Account Deletion
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Users who create a Gold & XP account can delete that account and associated personal data directly from the app or website. This page explains how deletion works and what happens after you request it.
1. How to delete your account
- In the app or on the web: go to Account Settings → Account & Data Deletion → Delete my account. You will be asked to type your username and confirm with a linked sign-in method: your password, Google, or Apple.
- By email: contact support@goldandxp.com from the email address on your account, or include enough information for us to verify ownership.
2. The 30-day recovery window
When you confirm deletion, your account is locked immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. During those 30 days nothing is deleted, and you can cancel at any time by:
- Signing in with your usual method (password, Google, or Apple) and choosing Reactivate account, or
- Using the cancellation link we email to your verified address when deletion is requested.
This window exists so a stolen or compromised account cannot be destroyed irreversibly by someone else. If you receive a deletion email you did not request, use the cancellation link immediately, then secure the sign-in method linked to your account.
3. What we delete
After the 30-day window ends, we permanently delete or de-identify account information, including:
- Account profile information, login credentials, email address, and preferences.
- Personal characters and private content that belongs only to your account.
- Campaigns you run as DM, including content other players contributed to those campaigns, and groups you created.
- Uploaded images and AI prompts tied to your account, subject to backup timing and provider limitations.
Deleting your account does not cancel subscriptions billed through the App Store or Google Play — cancel those in your store settings. Subscriptions billed through Stripe are canceled automatically when the account is permanently deleted.
4. What may be retained
- Billing, tax, fraud prevention, security, and legal records we are required or permitted to keep.
- Backups for a limited period before they rotate out of storage.
- Content in shared campaigns you do not own, group discussions, or moderation records where deletion would affect other users, legal obligations, or safety. We may anonymize or detach this content from your account where feasible.
- Public content that has been copied, saved, indexed, or shared by others outside our control.
5. Timing
Permanent deletion is processed automatically shortly after the 30-day recovery window ends. Email-based requests may take up to 30 days to verify and action.
6. Data requests
If you want to access, correct, export, or restrict data instead of deleting your account, see our Data Deletion / Data Requests page.
